Here is a picture of the engine installed in
94. As you can see the tin ware has been paint up. An alloy pulley
and those huge twin Kadron carbs.. the really did make a difference in top
speed and pulling power. I kept the normal distributor |
 |
Here is the bus with the engine pulled, the
gearbox supported and axle stands in place... just in case.
See those gas shocks!!! |
 |
Nice and high off the ground make life a lot
easier getting the engine out.
I had to get the extra height because the bus is so low. |
 |
Here is a picture with the fire wall removed.
See the top of the fuel tank.. well the rubber 90 deg tube was perished,
this was causing a real bad fuel smell. Replaced for £3... now no fuel
smell |

Here is the lump out and on my Black &
Decker work mate. It makes it really easy to work on raised up high.
Oh... this is after a good clean down.
I made use of Gunk to clean it 1st, what a load of rubbish and a £5 a
can it lasts no time.
In the end I bought a gallon of petrol, thats the best stuff to use,
all that oil and shit of in no time.

This is the tin ware, a bit of a mess and
really in need of some TLC. |
 |
Here is the lump following a really good clean
up.
All the tin ware has been resprayed in gray Hammerit paint. The paint
was tinned with cellulose thinners to a mix of 4 to 1. It went on
really well and gave a really smooth finish.
The twin quite pack was sand blasted and then painted in silver high
temp paint. That was a mess with loads of rust prior to work.
Back to the single carb and 25 to the gallon.... great but slow |
 |
Re fitted and looking sexy....
See the can of RedBull
on the coil!! extra energy .. |
 |
All nice and clean, I messed a bit of tin
ware... never mind |
